Gordon the Gopher is a puppet who worked as Presenter for Children's BBC between 1985 and 1987 with Phillip Schofield in the interstitial programmed The Broom Cupboard and later during Going Live! between 1987 and 1993. He has reappeared several times throughout the 2000s and 2010s.
Gordon is a small brown gopher who wears a famous leather jacket, which was a gift from singer Adam Ant. Unlike other puppet presenters of the 90s and 2000s, Gordon never spoke and instead squeaked. Gordon has remained a beloved and popular puppet presenter.
