Wizbit was a children's television series broadcasted between 1986 and 1988 on Children's BBC. It ran for 27 episodes and starred magician Paul Daniels and his wife Debbie McGee.
The series was set in the town of Puzzleopolis, inhabited by anthropomorphic magician items, such as wands, cards and rabbits. The protagonist, a cone shaped alien wizard named Wizbit has a year and a day to learn about the planet Earth and solve puzzles. The show was partially educational, with the puzzles Wizbit is set being presented to the audience and the solution being revealed at the end.
It is unknown if Wizbit was popular at the time of broadcast, however the series has grown a cult following for its surreal visuals and characters, though some find the series rather unnerving. A CGI reboot was planned for 2009, with a movie also planned for 2010, but both were cancelled. A book series based on the planned reboot was published.
